It is also common called as Pediatric Flat Foot. It is a controversial topic among health professionals. Pediatric flat foot was said to be controversial because it’s not painful and most of them grow out of it. The problem is that a lot do not grow out of it, so should they all be subjected to the use of foot orthoses that can be expensive, just to treat those who would not have grown out of it. There is also no evidence that foot orthoses can even correct flat foot in children. The one treating clinician in consultation with the parent will have to make an ethical informed decision for treating them or not.
